Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 2002

Under the requirements of the above Acts, we can provide you with information regarding the storage, handling, use and potential health hazard of the following IG Doors product:-

IG ORIGINAL STEEL AND STEEL WOODGRAIN DOORS

Original Steel and Steel Woodgrain doors are constructed from two galvanised steel skins permanently bonded to a rigid polyurethane injected core and crimped and glued around grooved timber stiles. The surface is primed with ‘baked-on’ acrylic paint. The solid polyurethane core gives the door thermal and sound insulation properties as well as excellent dimensional stability. Doors will not split, bow, warp or crack.

No health hazard is created by any components of a steel or steel woodgrain door and it is as safe as a standard timber door when cutting and planing.

Doors should be handled with care and stored in a suitable environment to avoid damage to the finished product.

The weight of a door unit may be in excess of 25kg. Suitable handling arrangements and assessments should be made available to reduce the risk associated with manual handling.

Unglazed door units have a half hour fire resisting capacity when tested in accordance with BS476: Part 22: 1987.

No individual door component, or a door unit as a whole, poses a fire hazard during storage.

Where the door has been involved in a fire the products of combustion will be noxious, containing carbon dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, acrolene, black smoke and hydrocarbons. The steel skin will not burn at all.
